What's New: Attach Files in Chat, Faster Dropbox Imports, and Reliable File Processing

Lawyers can now attach files directly in the chat, Dropbox imports run in the background, and file processing is more reliable with automatic recovery.

"Some people call this artificial intelligence, but the reality is this technology will enhance us. So instead of artificial intelligence, I think we'll augment our intelligence." — Ginni Rometty, 2017

Attach Files in Chat

When asking Sputnik a question, lawyers can now attach files directly in the chat. Drop in a contract, an exhibit, or a memo — Sputnik reads it alongside everything else it knows about the case and gives you an answer with the full picture.

Faster Dropbox Imports

Importing files from Dropbox used to slow things down when folders had thousands of files. Now Sputnik scans Dropbox folders in the background — lawyers start the import and keep working. No waiting.

More Reliable File Processing

When Sputnik processes uploaded documents, things can go wrong — a file might be password-protected, an unusual format, or just temporarily stuck. We overhauled how Sputnik handles these cases:

  • Files that get stuck are automatically detected and recovered
  • Unsupported file formats are clearly marked instead of silently failing
  • Password-protected PDFs are handled gracefully

The result: fewer files end up in limbo, and lawyers can see exactly what's happening with every document in their case.
